create

As I have mentioned before, in the next little bit there will be some exciting changes to the website. I hope you guys will enjoy it because I am looking forward to it. It will be about doing business that is close to my heart (I will explain when I announce the changes). But because of the changes I am going to make, I am going to keep this post short and sweet.

I have been thinking a lot lately about how much we as human beings love to see, listen, or read works of art. We are fine tuned, I feel, to love creativity. Because we are unique, we are all attracted to different creative things. And are not limited to just one. We can spend hours enjoying a good book, strolling the museum, listening to a concert, watching a cooking show, and more. But do we get so caught up in enjoying others’ creativity that we leave little room for our own? Have we started writing the book we have been wanting to, painting an art piece, singing for an audience, cooking a wonderful and beautiful meal, taking a walk in nature, learning how to write in calligraphy, come up with new twists on an old idea, started a business?

We are creative beings, hence why we love creativity so much. All of us are creative, but not always in the same way the world views creativity. Give yourself permission to be creative and then take the time to actually create. It is because of this that I have decided to eliminate my Friday post reviews. I spend a ton of time admiring the amazing things others are doing to the point where I run out of time to do my own creating. And so from now on, I will spend less time reading other’s posts and researching (although I still will read some because I love it) and more time creating my own. When we are at our death’s bed will we be satisfied to just say, “I have seen amazing things?” Or would we prefer saying, “I have seen and contributed to amazing things?” We need to contribute to the beauty in the world. It needs it. There are 7 billion people in the world and yet each and every single one of us are unique. That means there are things we can contribute that cannot be contributed by anyone else.

In the comments bellow mention two creative things you doing/creating this week. I would love to hear it!

I am doing a blog about my religious beliefs and I am also raising a child. It doesn’t get much more creative than creating life 😀

I agree with you, Darian. Creating a life is one of the most creative (and amazing) things we can do!
