Your to-do list should help you reach your long-term goals. Goals display the aspirations of your hearts and your perception of what you can accomplish. Take the time to evaluate them and make sure that they are doing just that.

The number one way to keep track of your to-do list is to keep track of your to-do list. What I mean is make sure you are using systems that help you remember what you are trying to accomplish. Once a week, sit down and write down what you want to accomplish that week that is in line with your long-term goals. Every night before bed, review what you desire to accomplish the next day, how you are going to do it and WRITE IT DOWN. Then when you wake up in the morning, briefly review what you wrote down.

The process described above does not have to take a long time. But it does have to be done to help you stay focused on what you want to accomplish. It will give you clarity about the direction you need to go. And will help you fill your days doing things that will help you and your business grow.

Bellow are some tools I used to help me keep track of my goals.

  • Google Calendar (If I know I need to get something done by a specific time, I set a reminder in my calendar).
  • Notepads on my phone (Google Keep, Inkpad, And.do, Evernote)
  • Physical notebook I carry around for when inspiration hits on better tasks or ways I can tweak a current task.
  • An accountability buddy. This could be a mastermind, a friend, a spouse, or anyone who is willing to ask you about your goals. A bonus to this is that talking about it can also give you inspiration on things you could do to grow your business and obtain the lifestyle you want to live with your family.

“When performance is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates.”

-Thomas S. Monson
How you keep track of your to-do list is very personal and so you have to find out what works best for you. Reflect on times when you have accomplished the things you wanted to do. What acts lead to that success?
