Facebook Marketing 5 Day Challenge

I remember feeling like giving up when I first started using Facebook to grow one of my earlier businesses.

I thought I was doing everything I could and did not understand why I was not seeing the results I wanted. I felt like I was on Facebook ALL THE TIME.

And one of the thoughts that kept going through my mind was, “How am I going to feed my family?”

And then one day, I decided to try a few things…and the results were far better than I hoped.

Hundreds of new followers a day, clients coming TO ME to ask about my products and services. And more money in my bank account.

What’s even better is that I have used those same strategies to help my clients get the same results.

If you’re ready to become more visible, ignite your business growth, and get more leads by using Facebook, then join the FREE Facebook marketing 5 Day Challenge now!

3 Ways To Avoid Wasting Time On Social Media

Let’s face it, as entrepreneurs, we are busy. And we are very result driven. That means we do not have time to waste on random things or on things that will not help our end result.

Time is the most precious commodity we have. Once lost, we can never get it back.

And as a wife, mom, sister, friend, and spiritual being, I have a list of priorities to do daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.

Unfortunately, it is easy to get sucked into time wasters. Sometimes we don’t even know that we are wasting time until we look at the clock and see that we have not accomplished what we hoped.

Although social media marketing cannot be ignored, it can be a BIG time waster. (more…)

Facebook Marketing Made Easy

It’s official! My new show, Facebook Marketing Made Easy, has gone live on my business page on Facebook.

I’ve wanted to start this Facebook Live show for a while, but one thing or another has kept it from happening.

I started this show because I had many entrepreneurs, clients, friends, acquaintances who have no idea how to go about their Facebook marketing. Particularly those who are new to the online space for business.

Not everyone, especially a new business, has the funds to hire an agency to manage their social media for them.

I wanted to help those entrepreneurs have all the resources they needed to IGNITE their business growth using Facebook.

After watching the video, please let me know if you have any questions. I would also LOVE any suggestions you have for future shows.

Follow Your Intuition

After having my baby, I made a conscious decision to focus on my boys until we were all three ready for me to be active in my business again.

Before giving birth to my baby, I had planned on not being very active in my business for about two to three months. But my little one needed more time to adjust to the abruptness of coming into this world. He needed to feel more of my love and have more of my time.

It felt RIGHT for me to give him the time he needed to feel secure and adjusted. Giving him, my toddler, my husband, and me that time to adjust to the expansion in our family was necessary.

In all honesty, some days were hard as I worried about how easy it was for businesses to be forgotten in the online space when they are inactive.

But as I’ve been getting back to work, I’ve come to realize what a great decision it was for me to focus on my boys. I am glad I listened to my intuition.

My children are happy and seem to feel secure of my love and attention.

I’ve gained AMAZING clarity about my business that I wouldn’t have achieved if I had not stepped back.

And my marketing idea generator feels like it has consumed gallons and gallons of energy drinks.

Do you feel out of alignment with your life and business? Have you stopped to ponder on why you’re feeling the way you are?

It’s ok to take the time you need to step back from a decision, activity, program, relationship, etc.

Follow your intuition, even if everyone around you is saying something different than what you feel you should do.

You are a unique being living a unique life and growing your unique business. Only you know what you need to do to get to your next level.

When was the last time you followed your intuition & what happened?

Why Your Clients Are Unhappy With Your Services

As a marketer, I understand the importance of market research. It’s important to find out what your ideal clients need and want.

But there’s something that I see many entrepreneurs do wrong after doing their market research.

They don’t listen.

I too have done this before. I ask all the right questions, the customers tell me what they want, and then I proceed to not give it to them. And many entrepreneurs have done the same thing.

Why would someone who want their business to succeed let that happen?

It’s because they start to think that they can give their customers more or better than what they asked for.

And then they wonder why their clients are unhappy with their services or products. “Why can’t I get more clients?” they wonder.

I came across this video by a sketch comedy group called Studio C. I think it beautifully (and yes, comically) shows exactly what happens when there is a break in communication between what the client wants and what you end up giving them.

After watching the video, in the comments below, tell us how you makes sure to give your customers what they ask for.

My Year of Being an Entrepreneurial Nomad: Part Four

If you missed the other parts of this series, you can find the other parts by clicking here, here, and here.

Imagine the kind of life we were enjoying. We were renting homes in places that were appealing. And staying there long enough to understand the people and the culture (my favorite type of traveling). We were trying all sorts of restaurants that people from all over raved about, and enjoying the flexibility being entrepreneurial nomads allowed us to spend time with our family.

It was great. And so why didn’t we continue to do longer?

I want to share what made us stop traveling and settle down.

Lesson #4: Listening to your intuition

Understand not necessarily what you want but what you need.

About a month or so before we moved from one place, we started to decide what the next place should be. That gave us a chance to do some research and get everything in place that we needed to for our next adventure.

Near the end of our nomadic days (at least for now), we had a hard time feeling out our next place. Something just felt…off. Our intuition was not agreeing with where we wanted to go. And we could not understand why.

As many of you know, we believe in the power of prayer. And so when we couldn’t figure out what our intuition was telling us, we started to pray for clarity and guidance. What were we missing? What was it telling us? What did we need to do?

Because we were having a hard time deciding, we delayed leaving the place where we were currently located. We gave ourselves another month and a half there.

I’m so glad we did not ignore our intuition and just moved on to the next adventure.

I’ve come to realize how big a part our intuition plays in our business. We need to be in sync with the business we have and where it’s going. It needs to feel RIGHT. Not listening to that could put us off our game and cause all sorts of difficulty that we don’t need to go through.

2. Taking inspired action steps

Once we realized that it was time for us to settle down and stop traveling, we needed to figure out where we needed to go and what to do when we get there.

It became apparent to us that we needed to move back home. Both of our families lived there. I felt VERY strongly that this time of my life was meant to strengthen bonds with friends and family. I felt this so STRONGLY that I cannot describe it in words.

We immediately made plans to go home. We didn’t even know exactly where we were going to live since we had sold our home, but we knew we needed to just get there.

Unbeknownst to us, we had friends and family that needed our support at that time. They were going through things that they never shared when we spoke over the phone, texted, or exchanged e-mails. If we had not gone home when we did, we would have missed an opportunity to support the people we love, one of our biggest core values.

It’s not enough to be intuitive about what your next step in business should be. Once you know what you need to do, you actually need to do it.

It’s easy to become frozen in decision making and never taking the steps you need to get where you feel like you need to go.

But that’s not enough.

Take a leap of faith, start taking steps that you feel you need to take. Don’t let fear, or pride get in your way. That is a road that leads you to being one of the 50% or so of businesses that fail within 4 years of starting your business.

It takes courage to make that intuitive step. But if you do what you need to do, that leap will take you far beyond where you wanted to go. In a good way:-).

In the comments, I would love to hear from you. When did you trust your intuition and take a leap of faith that resulted in growth and success?

I have been a business consultant for a long time. And I have own multiple businesses over the years. Some have been successful, and some have not. But before I started to travel, I did not realize that I had a HUGE mindset issue kept me from seeing more success than I had previously seen in my businesses and in my life.

Ironically, this mindset problem was not an issue when it came to marketing for my clients because I truly believed in their products or services. And I thought the benefit they provided for their customers would contribute to their health in one way or another.

This mindset problem leads to the 3rd lesson I learned as a traveling entrepreneur.

Lesson #3: Refining Your Message

1. Understanding and formulating My elevator pitch

Going to all these new places and meeting all these new people allowed me the opportunity to define and refine my message. As an entrepreneur, I was sometimes shy about telling people what I do because I did not want to come across as forceful or salesy when it came to face to face conversations.

This was especially true when they would look confused when I told them what I did. It made me feel self-conscious. As if what I did was not good enough or did not matter. I would start to doubt the value I provided and then be even more shy about telling people what my business was about.

But because I was shy about sharing my message, it was difficult even to put into words what my message was.

I had to become good at figuring out those words and refining them until the people I spoke to understood right away EXACTLY WHAT I DID and how I provided value.

Even though I have sat down before to write down what I did for my client, wanting to explain my business better made me sit down and gain clarity on what my clients needed. Then using their words, I wrote down what kind of ROI my clients received from working with me.

I worked on my elevator pitch. And the better I got at this, the faster and clearer people I met understood what I did. And the more clients I gained.

2. Inner Clarity

Being able to explain my elevator pitch to others helped me understand my business better. It was a circle. The more I understood about what I offered, the more I could explain it, the more I explained it, the more I understood it.

It was through this process that I realized that I was not quite in the business I wanted to be. I owned a marketing agency. I loved helping my clients spread their message, earn trust, and gain new clients. But I realized the work did not light me up.

I realized that I loved the consulting aspect of it more than I enjoyed doing it for my clients.

Once I realized this and changed my focus, I jumped out of bed every day excited to work on my business. It was hard to stop working because I enjoyed it so much. And I knew, that’s what would make my business sustainable. Enjoying the business I had and where it was headed.

In the comments below, I would love to hear your elevator pitch. Can you tell me what you do and your mission in one sentence?

My Year of Being an Entrepreneurial Nomad: Part Two

If you missed part one of this post, you can find it here.

I remember last New Year’s when my family and I were celebrating in a beautiful home on the beach that we had rented. It was peaceful, fun, and FABULOUS!

Our little boy had already fallen asleep, and it was just my husband and mewatching fireworks going off over the ocean.

As we celebrated, we talked about the last year that we had experienced and what we would like the next year to be like. It was a wonderful conversation that I reflected back on for a few weeks afterward. (more…)

My Year of Being an Entrepreneurial Nomad: Part One

As some of you might know, I have spent a lot of time moving in the last year.

Almost one and a half years ago, my husband and I decided that this would be the perfect time for us to move around (while our family was still young).

We sold or gave away a lot of our stuff and became entrepreneurial nomads. We traveled from state to state and sometimes to multiple locations in the same state.

Let me just say that it was one of the best decisions we made for our family. Our experiences went from horrible to fantastic. But all of them contributed to the kind of family, people, and entrepreneurs that we are today. (more…)
