Giving is the best communication.

“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”  –Lao Tzu

This week I received a message on Facebook from my sister.  When I opened it, she had included this award winning video from Thailand, “Giving is the best communication.” I was moved beyond words. This is the way I would like to live my life.  The way, I hope, everyone would love to aim to be. (more…)

Clients causing you stress?

Stressed business woman

A couple of months ago, my husband told me about a podcast he had listened to.  It was a podcast about silly disagreements people had that they would bring to discuss with the host.  In this specific episode, a man was upset with a woman because, although he had known her for five years, she did not see him as a friend.  Years ago she had developed a friendship chart.  (more…)

Timing is everything.

One day I went into an interview as prepared as someone could be. I had studied up on the company, I had gone over the qualifications the company had listed on the application, and had looked up what others in the position were doing. Then I had composed a list of questions that I had and a list of all the ways I could contribute to the position (based on all the research that I had performed and my own experience). Everything was in my favor, as far as I was concerned. And there was the added bonus that I had always been offered every job I had ever interviewed for. I felt pretty good. (more…)

2 Clarify 2015 Challenge

2013 was a failure for me, as far as accomplishment goes and the way I felt about myself. That year I had read an article that said making New year’s resolution was a bad idea.  I thought it was interesting so I tried it.

Total failure. (more…)

I recently had the pleasure of writing a guest post at Cable Car Couture, an image consulting company. I have been following them for years, therefore it was such a great honor for me to have them publish my article. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Don’t be a multitasker

Remember what I said in my previous post? Just because you can multitask does not mean you should. Focus on one task at a time. Prioritizing should be one of the first instruments you master.

Being a multitasker and bombarding yourself with tasks will only lead to frustration and weariness. Then your dream will become this burden that weighs you down. All this angst and frustration might make you give up on your goal. You might mistakenly believe you cannot succeed. In actuality it was all the other stuff you added to it that made it burdensome. Handling one task at a time will lead to feelings of surety, lightness, and happiness. (more…)

Create opportunities

Tweet: preparation + hard work + perseverance =success. http://ctt.ec/J9RE7+ @laureenoliphant Preparation + hard work + perseverance = success

Success does not come to those who sit around and wait to be handed opportunities. Opportunities come to those who look for it and who recognize it when it comes. Remember this the next time you look at someone else and think that they are successful because they got lucky or they had the right connections;

preparation + hard work + perseverance =success.

It is up to you to create opportunities that will lead you to success.

Organize your mind

There have been many times in my life where I thought I knew what I wanted and charged full speed ahead.  I did not stop to ask myself some important questions that would have given me clarity.  By the time I did cease long enough to organize my mind, I was not where I wanted to be. Nor taking my business in the direction I wanted it to go.

Over the years I have realized how much time(one of the most precious commodities there is), effort, and money I have wasted on things and people that were not worth it.  I have created 2Clarify to share with others knowledge I have gained and am still in the process of gaining on adding value to life and business by distinguishing the necessary and the real.  This does not mean that this website will be about being a minimalist. It will be about gaining clarity through simplicity.
